Black seating brings a bit of definition to a kitchen that's mostly pale timber, stone or white cabinetry, and the Bastion Bar Stool Black is an easy way to add it without changing anything else. The painted elm frame is finished in a hardwearing lacquer and holds a woven rattan seat and back, so the darker tone is softened by natural texture rather than feeling heavy. There's genuine give in the rattan, which matters when everyone ends up sitting at the bench for far longer than dinner takes. It works at a kitchen island, a breakfast bar or a home bar setup, and suits classic and country kitchens as readily as more contemporary ones.
